AI is Smart. But it is deaf to 3 billion people.


 For artificial intelligence to deliver real value in a diverse nation like India, it must learn to listen—literally. At a recent Digital India summit, experts warned that language remains the single biggest barrier to healthcare access, rendering advanced digital platforms useless for millions of non-English speakers. To bridge this divide, the National Health Authority has signed a pact with the "Bhashini" division to deploy multilingual, voice-enabled AI across its networks.

The initiative aims to move beyond text-based interfaces, allowing citizens to interact with health services using voice commands in their native dialects. Additionally, new voice-to-text tools will automate clinical documentation for doctors, freeing them from typing duties to focus on patient care. This shift acknowledges that true digital inclusion isn't just about internet access; it's about speaking the user's language.
